Rules & Regulations

  • Just like a driving license, you will need an unmanned aircraft operated permit in order to become a drone pilot (Unmanned Aircraft Operator Pilot).

  • Just like your car , you need to register your drone with the government & it will be issued with an UIN (Unique Identification Number).

Note:- Nano and Micro Drones don't require UIN/UAOP, just like cycle doesn't requires registration.

  • No Permission No Take off (NPNT)- before any flight, a NPNT clearance needs to be obtained.

  • Nano drones don't have to be registered or obtain NPNT compliances. They can be operated upto 50m or in enclosed space.

  • Micro drones cannot be flown upto 200 feet all other drones can be flown upto 400 feet

  • Drones must be operated within line of sight

  • Drones fall under restricted items category & can't be carried in hand baggage in aircraft.

  • Drones cannot be flown above 400 feet vertically.

  • Air space has been partitioned into red zone, Yellow zone, & Green zone.

  • Drone flying is not permitted in red zone.

  • Red zone includes airspace near airport, international boarders, military installations, close to parliament, rashtrapati bhavan,

  • state secretariats in respective state capitals.

  • Yellow zone will delineate controlled airspace.

  • Filling of a flight plan & air defence clearance certificate will be required to fly drones in yellow zone.

  • Green zone is uncontrolled airspace where we can fly any drone without any permission.
